Most CAFR files are Acrobat .pdf files; some are MSWord .doc files for downloading. If the link ends in .html, you will reach a web site. If the link ends in .pdf it will start downloading the file when clicked.

The year of the CAFR in most cases can be seen in the address. I recommend looking at the Statistical Section first then the Combined Financial Section.

The Public started to learn about this shell game in 1999, changes were then made to CAFR accounting starting in 1999 through GASB (Government Accounting Standards Board) transmittal letters 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36, 37, 38, 39, 40, and 41.

The City, County, School District, University, Enterprise, or Pension fund CAFR you are looking for may just pop up for downloading
